About Us

Buloba Teachers college was founded by the native Anglican Church Missionaries, on land that was donated by late Ssenyonyi Nsibambi in 1929, and the foundation stone was laid in 1930

The college was originally founded for girls from religious noble homes and in 1936 the first six girls were admitted into college. They were doing home economics as their main course but later it was transferred to Nkokonjeru and then the college become a Teacher Training College and then admitted new students from gayaza. The students were trained in luganda until 1968 when it started producing Grade II Teachers.

In 1974, it became n in-service college for incensed Teachers for the award of grade II Teacher’s Certificates. 1977, it started training in-service Grade III Teachers. In 1985, it changed to an up-grader’s college for grade II Teachers who wanted to upgrade to Grade III.
In 1989, the college started to admit per-service students, incensed Teachers and Grade II Teachers, all for the award of the Grade III Teacher’s Certificate which last for two years.
